Askia User Conference announced!

Dear users,
Last year when we launched our new online community tool, we asked all Askia users to re-register from scratch, primarily so we could identify all of our 'active' users.
Our key registered users are in excellent company - there are now almost 500 members of our online community, which comprises representatives of the 160 or so companies in more than 17 countries who use Askia software. In most cases, you are also the main point of contact for a much larger community of both internal and client users.
Choosing Redmine for our user area was always going to lead to more transparency on our side (cf. article about redmine), especially as we publish roadmaps for all of our products and trackers for all issues.
We're not aware of anything similar to this in our industry, at least not on this scale.
That said, we feel the time is now right for us to organize our first ever user conference. It will be held in Paris, 10 June, 2010.
You can count on us to create the right environment - For example, there will be no room for sales pitches disguised as technical demos. We would therefore like to use this message as an official call for contributions as it is important that we hear your side of the story.
So, if you would like to share your thoughts with fellow users from around the globe we would love you to submit your ideas and perhaps become a speaker at the event in Paris.
As things stand, we are thinking about this being a one day conference to be held at a nice venue in central Paris, probably preceded by a small party at our office the evening before. No doubt you are aware by now that Askia is not only a serious company but one which likes to relax and socialize with friends on occasion.
On our side, here is a short list of some of the main topics we'd like to cover:
- Version 5.2
- Portal, dashboard (widgets) & Export of portfolios to PPT
- 2010 Strategy including askiadesign & askiavista 6.0
We will be in a position to tell you more very soon so please look out for further updates.
In the meantime, please give serious thought to the idea of coming over as one of the presenters. Indeed, if you have an idea for a presentation, please email me directly as soon as possible (best before the 19th of March).
